Kababs and Kurries

Reasonable Indian fare with an interesting menu

The awful spelling might be reminiscent of a fast food kebab house, but the food, service and decor makes this a much classier affair. The design is slick, if a little unimaginative, with red brick walls, dark tables and a view of the chefs at work. The menu is extensive, and both meat-eaters and vegetarians are well-catered for. Interesting options include the chandani malai kofta, comprising soft cottage cheese dumplings simmered in a rich, creamy sauce, while old favourites such as the butter chicken are also hearty and delicious.

Garlic naan is charred and crisp, while the butter pepper crab is a yummy, if wildly expensive dish (prices are worked out by market price, so be prepared to pay), and it is, unfortunately, not one that will fill you up, being very scant on meat. Overall service is swift and friendly, making it a good spot to enjoy some refined Indian fare.
