From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
A visit to Ninar begins with hope, sadly it ends there. It looks pretty from the outside – there is a friendly reception as you walk in, and the interior is well-designed and clean – however, there the pleasantries end. The menu is packed with breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, Mexican food and crêpes to name but a smattering, yet the service is grindingly slow. With decent decor and such a busy menu, it is obvious that Ninar has made an effort to please, but the details have been sorely missed. The execution is poor and the atmosphere smoky.
The chicken fajitas are reminiscent of a hurried airport purchase and the club turkey sandwich is sadly ordinary – certainly not the ‘delight’ it claims to be on the menu. As a coffee house, the newspapers and slouchy-looking chairs provide a decent spot in which to take refuge; but, considering its office-orientated location, it isn’t likely to become a regular lunchtime haunt.
