Sadaf

Upmarket Persian eatery that won’t break the bank

Sadaf’s interiors are smarter than you’d imagine from the outside, in a very traditional way – intricate Iranian lamps with pink lights hang from the ceiling, and meticulous Persian tiling covers both the walls and the rather grand staircase that takes you to an extensive upstairs family seating area. Despite the ceremonial décor, the smartly-dressed waiting staff are all smiles, and go to plenty of trouble to make sure you enjoy your meal, including making suggestions if you’re unfamiliar with any of the dishes. The menu is fairly straightforward – grills, kebabs, rice and appetisers, which are beautifully cooked and the flatbread is served warm. Everything else is something of an afterthought, so be prepared for something of a carnivorous meal if you drop in. The prices are very reasonable considering the venue, and the buffet good value, so why not treat the family?
