From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
With a bar measuring a stately 26 metres in length (some people struggle to even swim that!), Stills has more than a few good gimmicks. Brick walls, black leather sofas and a smattering of strangely huge mirrors give it the feel of a slightly narcissistic Manhattan wine bar, but this is quickly dismissed by the huge collection of stills (get it?) which sit encased behind the bar. They perform no purpose other than that of ‘atmosphere’, but you get the idea. The menu is equally flashy and this certainly has the makings of a quality bar, with some excellent brasserie-style bar food on offer. The fish and chips in particular are really good, if a tad fancy, but the overall impression is of something pretty accomplished. The views out across the waters are pretty impressive and although it had only just opened when we arrived, we predict this will be a pretty shrewd contender in future years.
