Tandoori Corner

This budget Indian is a big winner

From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010

The first thing you’ll notice about Tandoori Corner is how the staff outnumber the guests almost two to one. Don’t let this put you off, however. Despite eager and humble appearances, Tandoori Corner does a very decent meal at mouth-watering prices. If you’re on a budget and would like to eat your day’s fill in one sitting, the TC has your corner covered. The plates of pakora are deep fried, succulent and spicy and the channa masala, billed on the menu as ‘a choice of chick peas’, will just about push you to bursting before the main dish has even arrived. Special mention goes to the fish, providing you can squeeze it in.

If you think cheap hammour dishes are probably best avoiding (the hammour being the region’s most sought after fish), try the hariyali, a minty treat that pays silent, green respect to the poor beast that died in its preparation. All in all, a pleasant find that rewards the short walk from Al Wahda Mall. Peer through the window and if it looks like it’s trying to break the record for the highest number of waiters in a confined space, then you’re in the right place.
