Believe us when we say that we go sorts of places in this city searching for a good bite to eat.
From glitzy five star hotels, to backstreet, cupboard-sized shawarma spots and everything in between.
The food scene in this city is so varied, so far-ranging and diverse it makes Abu Dhabi a foodie’s dream, and our job a joy.
So, we should never be surprised to be caught off guard when it comes to the location of a restaurant. That being said, one place that we’ve never eaten before is a cricket stadium, so we decided to put that right.
Found at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Khalifa City, The Boundary has been on our radar for a while, butit recently got a new look.
Catering to teams who’ve just worked up a sweat, cricket fans and the families of those waiting on their loved one to finish their game, the venue is quite small and homely but there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s not particularly fancy or elaborate in its décor, everything is very casual here and we find it quite charming.
We take a seat and from the small menu pick out a few comforting bites to eat.
There are a lot of delicious sounding salads, but it’s The Boundary Burger we go for.
There are no frills here, this is a standard cheeseburger but it hits all the right spots.
The brioche bun is lightly toasted, the beef patty cooked perfectly medium and it’s topped with lettuce, tomato and melted cheese. No complaints from us.
The steak sandwich is equally satisfying. Spilling out the ciabatta, grilled steak, oozing garlic cheese and caramelised onions make it a messy but enjoyable plate of food.
We tuck into a portion of fries and some onion rings, too which both go down well.
Ending on a sweet note, we gulp away at the venue’s signature chocolate milkshake. It is super sweet and decadent like a good milkshake should be.
All in all, the venue is pretty good and perfect for a quick refuel if you’re in the area, but we wouldn’t really recommend it for date night. We might keep coming back for that burger, and join one of the local sports clubs while we’re on. We’ll need it.
