The Lighthouse

A stylish Yas Bay restaurant with brilliant plates

Looking to eat out at Yas Bay Waterfront? You and everyone else. The Lighthouse is a now open at Abu Dhabi’s most happening dining destination, and despite the popularity of the new area, it still manages to stand out among the crowd.

You go to Yas Bay for a full foodie experience: a beautiful restaurant, a trendy crowd, and a walk on the boardwalk after your meal. The Lighthouse delivers all of the above, plus some outstanding plates of food.

The meal starts with bread and hummus, which is as delicious as it is simple, and the perfect way to whet your appetite for the Mediterranean dishes to come.

Start with a Greek salad, which arrives laden with two huge chunks of feta, sliced bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and black olives. It’s tangy, fresh and light – just the plate for offsetting the summer heat.

Elsewhere on the menu, truffle rigatoni comes with crispy onions, mushrooms and creamy sauce, and it’s sure to be a winning dish with Abu Dhabi diners. That is until they clap eyes (and mouth) on the burrata pizza, loaded with creamy cheese that adorns a pillowy dough liberally oiled with a sweet tomato sauce.

The whole experience is likely to leave you licking your fingers, so you’ll forgive the fact that it’s on the pricier side by Abu Dhabi standards.

The Lighthouse is more than just a restaurant though; hailing from D3 in Dubai, it’s also a shop that’s chock-full of accessories, gifts and more to peruse. Be sure to have a little shop before your walk down Pier71.

The Lighthouse’s name is inspired by the Virginia Woolf novel, To The Lighthouse, and how she used to meet her Bloomsbury Group fellows over breakfast and lunch. The name is also a nod to the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

With such literary inspiration, we’re not surprised The Lighthouse makes us want to bring our most bookish friends (and everyone else we know) for lunch.
