World’s largest mobile maze opens in Abu Dhabi

Lose yourself in the mega attraction in Umm Al Emarat Park

A new attraction has opened in an Abu Dhabi park which looks like a great way to lose yourself.

Umm Al Emarat Park has welcomed a new mobile maze, dubbed The Wonder Maze, which organisers say is the largest of its kind in the world.

The maze structure consists of more than 25,000 square metre tarpaulin, 1,700 metres of column pipes and 8,000 metres of rope, to create the various paths and grids in a total length of 3,000 metres.

And it took more than 30,000 man hours just to set up.

Manager Lee Holmes said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring The Wonder Maze to Umm Al Emarat Park, one of the most popular family destinations in Abu Dhabi.

“We are confident that this spectacular maze will appeal to every age group, from small children to grandparents; anyone with an inquisitive mind and who wants to discover what’s around the next corner will love it.”

It will be open in the Evening Garden lawn area of the family friendly park in Al Mushrif daily from 9am to 11pm until the end of April 2019.

The Wonder Maze is designed and developed in modules, so the configuration of the paths will be changed regularly to keep visitors guessing.

Once you reach the centre, there is a 5 metre-high viewing platform from where you can see the direct exit from the maze so you don’t have to navigate it once more.

It is estimated it will take most visitors between half an hour and 45 minutes to complete.

Entry is Dhs35 per person, on top of the Dhs5 it costs to enter Umm Al Emarat Park.

Children below 100 cm can complete the maze for free.

Free (kids below 100cm), Dhs35 (general entry). Daily 9am-11pm. Umm Al Emarat Park, Mushrif area.
