Things to do in Abu Dhabi: Join a cool new book club at Warehouse 421

Register for the free club and share your thoughts on literature

It’s a good time to love books here in Abu Dhabi.

Why? Well, there’s a brand new children’s library at the Cultural Foundation, we’re counting down the days until Kinokuniya opens at The Galleria Al Maryah Island and a free sharing library has launched at Fifth Street Café.

If that’s not enough for you then there’s even more to be excited about as creative hub Warehouse 421 has launched its own book club.

On Sunday (September 29), you’ll be able to head along to the cool venue at Mina Zayed, for the first meeting of the new group.

The free-to-attend club will meet bi-monthly so you’ll also have plenty of time to read the book of choice before returning to discuss it with fellow passionate readers.

Two books are on this season’s list, firstly Letters to a Young Poet (German poet Rainer Maria Rilke’s handbook on writing and life) and Only Dull People are Brilliant at Breakfast (a diverse collection of Oscar Wilde’s ironic musings).

Sessions will be hosted by the curator Munira Al Sayegh and participants are encouraged to exchange thoughts on the books as well as any other topics they inspire.

All you have to do is visit www.warehouse421.ae to register your interest before attending.

Sounds pretty good to us!
Free. September 29, 5.30pm-8.30pm. Warehouse 421, Mina Zayed www.warehouse421.ae.
