18 new dishes you have to try at Time Out Market Dubai

Here are the summer specials you need to order

Home to restaurants from Dubai’s best chefs, Time Out Market Dubai is a hub for the season’s most on-trend dishes and delicious new eats.

Constantly innovating, eight of our favourite restaurants at the Souk Al Bahar dining destination are launching a host of tempting new bites, all ready for you to try this weekend.

Most of them are seasonal specials, which means they will only be around for a limited time. Which means you need to get down there pronto to try them all.

These are the 18 new dishes to try at Time Out Market Dubai this June.

21grams

Special: Breaded Chicken Schnitzel

Pounded and tenderised, this enormous chicken schnitzel is a classic cooked to perfection at Dubai’s Best European restaurant 21grams. Devour it with the paired summer coleslaw, bursting with fennel, apple, pickled onion and mayo.

Al Fanar

Special: Seabass Magli

Here’s your Emirati alternative to fish and chips, and we’ve got to admit, it’s good enough to rival even our favourite chippy. Crispy battered sea bass comes with roasted potatoes and tartar sauce. And at under Dhs60 for a sizeable plate, it’s a total bargain.

Special: Prawn Rocket Salad

If you’re keeping things healthy and light this summer, order these zingy sautéed prawns with rocket, cucumber, quinoa and cherry tomatoes, drizzled with lime vinaigrette.

Long Teng

Special: Long Teng Supreme Dimsum Platter

The dim sum wizards at Long Teng have heard our pleas. It’s simply too difficult to choose our favourites, and now with the supreme dimsum platter, we don’t need to. You’ll get scallop siew mai, xiao long bao, shrimp dumpling, and assorted mushroom dumpling, just for you. If you share, we salute you.

Mattar: Third Culture Barbecue

Special: BBQ Tray

Dubai’s original pitmaster, and the Market’s very own cheeky chappie, has a weekend special that’ll keep the entire gang happy. Settle in and order one of Hattem Mattar’s BBQ trays, packed with a mix of smoked meats including his signature 18-hour smoked brisket, pastrami and chicken, plus condiments and six sides. The large platter (you know you want to) comes with beef ribs and beef chorizo instead of chicken.

Special: Chicken Caesar Salad

A classic, which pairs pretty well with the BBQ Trays, but is equally tasty on its own. With fresh lettuce and oak smoked chicken, it’s one of those salads that sounds healthy, until you smother it in shaved parmesan and Mattar’s homemade Caesar dressing.

Special: Club Sandwich

While we love a fancy special we’ve never heard of, isn’t it always great to see a good old comforting sarnie pop up on the menu. This indulgent club sandwiches oak smoked chicken, cured beef bacon and soft boiled egg in Texas toast brioche.

Pitfire

New: Hawaii Five Oh!

There’s now even more choice of our favourite hand-tossed pizzas with that just blistered crust. Order to the Hawaii Five Oh! With spicy Hawaiian BBQ sauce, signature cheese blend, fresh roasted chicken, juicy pineapple and red onion. Old school, but we love it. A sprinkling of fresh coriander finishes this pie after the bake.

New: Five Star

Five of Pitfire’s star toppings come together for this pie – pepperoni, house made Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives and green capsicum. Absolutely nothing else needed. Well, except Pitfire’s garlic mayo dipping sauce for those crusts.

Reif Kushiyaki

Special: Ebi Katsu Sando

Chef Reif is experimenting again, with new specials and weekend brekkie dishes to try. Like the chicken katsu sando? Well you’ve love this deep fried shrimp patty version. Housed within two slices of sandwich bread with Japanese tartar sauce and yuzu guacamole.
Dhs68

Special: Omurice

This fusion dish combines Asian rice with Western omelette, Reif style. Japanese ketchup rice is covered with omelette and Japanese curry sauce.

Weekend Breakfast: Karaage Pancake

If you didn’t know, Time Out Market Dubai does a stellar breakfast every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm, with special dishes from every vendor and possibly the cheapest glass of bubbly in Dubai at Dhs45. New from Reif, these sour-cream pancakes are accompanied with yuzu whipped cream, spiced maple syrup and chicken karaage, garnished with spring onion.

Weekend Breakfast: Reif Asa Teishoku

Another fusion, this time a full fry up, vastly improved. Pick from scrambled or fried eggs, and tuck into them with homemade sliced bread, grilled sliced brisket, portobello mushroom katsu, homemade hash browns and miso baked beans. Come hungry, leave happy.

SLAB cocina

Special: Tacos Birra

They’ve only been serving at Time Out Market since April but the team of chefs at SLAB Cocina are already bringing out specials you simply have to try. These three corn tortilla tacos, dipped in beef cooking liquid, are filled with grilled with mozzarella and pulled beef, garnished with white onion and coriander.

Special: Nachos Grande

One of the best things about Time Out Market is that you can go for breakfast, lunch, dinner – and everything in between. Always buzzing, it’s a place you can just grab a drink and pick at snacks from Dubai’s best chefs. Hello, nachos grande. The name gives it away, these are slightly more than a snack, but grab a mate and you’ll devour the lot. Think fried corn tortilla, with queso, pickled jalapeno, diced tomatoes, spring onion, sour cream, coriander, refried beans and your choice of chicken chorizo, chicken tinga or beef bira.

Special: Crispy chicken taco

Sounds basic, tastes banging. Try these three purple corn tortillas, chipotle sour cream, shredded iceberg lettuce, fried chicken, white queso and pickled jalapeno sauce, served with salsa roja.

Vietnamese Foodies

New: Vegan spring roll and chicken spring roll

We know it’s almost impossible to go to Vietnamese Foodies and not automatically order a big bowl of warming Pho, but sometimes you have to try something new. Add the vegan or chicken spring rolls to your next order, you won’t regret it.
Dhs26

New: Tom Yam Soup with prawns

An absolute classic, this fragrant clear soup from the experts is served with steamed rice. At only Dhs30 per bowl, it’d be rude not to try it. With just the right amount of spice, your lips will tingle with every mouthful.
