Abu Dhabi Airport shares more travel guidelines for all passengers

Flights taking off from Abu Dhabi Airport are increasing, as travel starts to resume following temporary measures taken to top the spread of COVID-19.

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has announced more flights to an increasing list of destinations around the world and has stated that a ‘meaningful’ flight schedule will resume by mid-July.

Abu Dhabi Airport has released guidelines for all travellers coming to the airport.

Passengers are advised to arrive four hours before their flight to allow time to go through the various safety measures required before boarding.

Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed entry to the airport so you need to book your flight before leaving for the airport.

Masks and gloves must be worn at all times and a safe social distance of two metres should be adhered to.

Thermal scanning will also take place for all passengers to ensure the safety of all travellers.

Depending on the requirements of the intended destination, some passengers may have to undergo a blood test before being cleared to travel.
Abu Dhabi Airport has also reminded passengers to be mindful of the 10pm curfew in the city. Passengers will need to arrive before 10pm for their flight if the flight is scheduled between 10pm and 6am, as per the hours of the National Sterilisation Programme.

Those coming from other emirates to Abu Dhabi for their flight are permitted to travel and will not need a permit to travel to Abu Dhabi Airport despite the travel restrictions currently in place.
