Passengers can fly to Abu Dhabi from countries including India and Pakistan

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) have announced that fully vaccinated passengers from countries previously on the suspended list with residence visas will be allowed to travel to Abu Dhabi.

The decision comes into effect from Sunday September 12 and includes passengers arriving from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Nigeria and Afghanistan.

To enter the UAE you will need to apply via the website of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and complete the vaccination application form. You will also need to present the approved vaccination certification upon departure for the UAE.

To board your flight you will need a negative PCR test result done within 48 hours of departure at an approved lab with a QR code.

You will then need to undertake a rapid PCR test before boarding, and two more PCR tests on the fourth and eighth days of arrival. Children under 16 are exempt from these procedures.

If you are fully vaccinated with a WHO-approved vaccine and your residency visa has expired because you’ve been staying in one of the countries on the suspended list for more than six months, you can come into the UAE under a new entry permit, and then change your residency status after entry.

If you are not vaccinated, the previous rules remain in place.
