The Department of Culture and Tourism has announced new measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
All events and wedding parties will continue to be temporarily banned and venues across the city will remain closed until further notice.
The announcement means that all major tourist attractions, parks, beaches, restaurants, cinemas and shopping malls will continue to be closed until further notice in Abu Dhabi.
The closures were initially for period of two weeks until March 31, but The Department of Culture and Tourism has now announced that they have been extended.
The UAE has introduced a number of measure to tackle the spread of coronavirus including encouraging self-isolation and a national disinfection programme.
In addition, a number of drive through testing facilities are being set up across the UAE.
A full list of penalties and fines for violations has been released by the UAE Attorney-General Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi to clarify what measures UAE residents and citizens should be taking in light of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
