Abu Dhabi events and attractions increase to 90 percent capacity

Face mask changes are part of the latest COVID-19 update

Wondering what the capacity is for Abu Dhabi events? The new capacity is now 90 percent, following the easing of COVID-19 preventative measures in the capital and across the UAE.

The operating capacity applies to indoor and outdoor events, tourist attractions and destinations, social events government buildings and commercial properties, and it comes into effect on Saturday February 26. The change was announced by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee.

Al Hosn green passes and EDE scanners will still be used at entry points. Additionally, face masks must be worn indoors and physical distancing must be followed. However, face masks will be optional in outdoor spaces if physical distancing is observed.

Those who are are vaccinated will need to show the Al Hosn green pass to gain entry while those who are unvaccinated must show a negative PCR test result that is not more than 96 hours old to gain entry to events and social events, according to a circular from the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.

Earlier in February, it was announced that the UAE would gradually lift COVID-19 restrictions, and it was aiming to reach “full capacities by mid-February”. Movie theatres and sport stadiums have already been able to increase their event capacities, and it was also recently revealed that UAE restaurants can return to full capacity.
