The first Pokémon GO Tour: Live Event is coming to Abu Dhabi

Grab your phone and plush Pikachu because a Pokémon GO Tour: Live Event is coming to Abu Dhabi next year.

On Saturday February 26, 2022, gamers can take part in the inaugural a Pokémon GO Tour: Live Event on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island. The event is a real-world extension of the global game and will be hosted at the recently opened Yas Bay Waterfront.

Gamers in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi will be joined by participants at other live events taking place at the same time from across the world at Kaohsiung, Taiwan at the Taiwan Lantern Festival and Monterrey, Mexico at the Parque Fundidora.

Those playing Pokémon GO in Yas Island will have access to exclusives as part of the Pokémon GO Tour: Live Event, such as real-world habitats, a special game plan and rare in-game features, such as Eggs requiring one-quarter of their usual walking distance to hatch and earning twice the Candy from hatching Eggs. There will be an exclusive in-game medal, special stickers and lots more exclusive merch, as well as photo ops. Pika, pika.

The gaming event is hosted by Pokémon GO’s AR company behind, Niantic, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, and it is the first-ever live Pokémon GO Tour event in the UAE.
