Lebanese-Armenian restaurant opens at The Galleria Al Maryah Island

Almayass is open now

Looking for a new restaurant to try in Abu Dhabi?

Almayass is a new(ish) spot open now at the Galleria Al Maryah Island.

You might recognise Almayass from its original location at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort. The restaurant has now moved permanently to The Galleria, next to LPM. Head there for a sea view outside or rosy décor inside (either way, your feed will thank you).

Almayass was established in Beirut in 1996 and also has outposts in Dubai and Riyadh. The new Abu Dhabi location is serving up lunch and dinner. This Lebanese-Armenian restaurant is all about blending authentic Lebanese dishes and traditional Armenian flavours – we’re talking Armenian pastrami, a signature mousakka, Lebanese grills and all the mezze you could ask for. There’s also the signature manti (savoury meat dumplings covered with garlic yoghurt) is still on the menu.

Speaking of new spots to try at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, there is a new café that has just opened there, too.

Secret Garden serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and promises to be the “most Instagrammable” spot in the city. While competition for that title is hard, you can see for yourself on your next trip to the mall.

Aside from the sweet plates on the menu (hello, French toast with caramel crust) the drinks at Secret Garden look like something straight out of the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and include a “misty fields” blue lemongrass floral tea, specialty coffee and a range of mocktails.

Open daily, 6pm-midnight. The Galleria Al Maryah Island (02 644 0440).
