Abu Dhabi’s first cat café, Meow Café, is open

Meet cute kitties and sip coffee

Hey all you cool cats: Abu Dhabi’s first cat café is open in Al Muneera. Meow Café brings together cats, coffee and cute vibes.

Wondering just what a cat café is? Similar to popular cat cafés in Japan, as well as other parts of the world, Meow Café offers playtime with its furry residents, plus, a full menu of coffees and pastries. Coffees are between Dhs20 and Dhs25, and include all the staples you could ask for: from Spanish lattes to iced Americanos. If you’re feeling peckish, the café also serves croissants, cakes, tirsmisu and mini pancakes.

Want to play with the kitties at the unique café? One hour of playtime with the cats will costs Dhs45 for adults and Dhs35 for kids under the age of ten. Kids under three get in for free. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The café is separated into an eating area and a cat lounge area, to keep the cats safe from accidentally eating human food, and so that people can eat undisturbed. Eating and drinking is only allowed in the café areas and cats can’t leave the lounge.

The café doesn’t allow outside cats or other pets, so be sure to leave fluffy friends at home. Meow Café also asks guests to abide by rules, including not carrying or chasing kitties and leaving napping felines alone.

Meow Café is the first cat café in Abu Dhabi, and there are cat cafés in Dubai, too. Cat Café Vibrissae opened last year in Al Safa.

Open daily, 10am-10pm. Al Muneera @meowcafe.ad, meowcafe.ae/.
