Travelling to the UAE from Africa? The UAE lifts travel ban for 12 African countries.
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) have announced that all inbound flights to a dozen African countries will resume.
You can now fly into the UAE from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The change is effective from Saturday January 29 from 2.30pm. Passengers will need to adhere to all relevant precautionary measures including wearing masks and social distancing throughout the journey.
Passengers travelling from those 12 African countries will need to have a negative COVID-19 test obtained within 48 hours of travel from one of the approved labs in their respective countries of departure. You will also need to complete a rapid PCR test at the airport before departure and get a PCR test on arrival.

In further COVID-related travel news, the UK is removing all COVID-19 testing measures for eligible fully vaccinated travellers from Friday February 11. If you are fully vaccinated and arriving in the UK, you will only be required to fill out a passenger locator form (PLF).
Arrivals who are not recognised as fully vaccinated will need to take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on or before day two after they arrive in the UK.
