Spend a suhoor under the stars at Shangri-La’s Ramadan Village

Looking for special suhoors in Abu Dhabi for Ramadan 2022? Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri has transformed its pool area into a Ramadan Village.

The Ramadan Village is complete with a beautifully adorned majlis and sofas illuminated by lighting. The outdoor pool area at Abu Dhabi’s Shangri-La is normally picturesque, but you’ll want to have your phone charged to capture this Ramadan décor as you gather with family and friends.

Making the destination special for a suhoor, an Arabian ambiance welcomes guests for a quintessential al fresco Ramadan experience in Abu Dhabi.

Interactive culinary stations are serving up food in front of diners and with several different options, it seems that the special poolside location will entice many. Add in an oud player performing live every night except Mondays and the Ramadan Village promises to be a special iftar and suhoor.

Wanting to gather in a group? You can visit in small numbers as well as the chance for six to ten guests to get together in one of the cabanas, making it a great opportunity to wind down from the day with your closest friends and family.

There is a Dhs100 minimum spend for standard and lounge seating, Dhs1,500 minimum spend for suhoor majlis up to six people and Dhs2,500 spend for the grand majlis up to ten people.

That is not the only special experience as part of Shangri-La’s Ramadan Village with the hotel’s Sofra bld restaurant inviting diners to visit and take part in a grand iftar for Dhs268 per person.

You could have the opportunity to sip on your favourite Ramadan juices and enjoy classic iftar dishes as you look out across the water to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, located at nearby Khor Al Maqta Creek.

Foodie fans will also have the opportunity to enjoy the latest Shangri-La’s Master Series – a collection of gourmet pop-up events throughout the year featuring unique gastronomical experiences curated by globally acclaimed chefs – and for Ramadan the first Arabian pitmaster, Hattem Mattar, will be in-house.

Showcasing his skills in the ESS Lounge, which is a chilled out spot located by the beach in the hotel, the Dubai chef and Time Out Market vendor be serving up must-try barbecue from a set menu from Wednesday April 13 to Sunday April 17 for Dhs298. An à la carte menu will also be available. It’s one of the rare opportunities to enjoy Mattar’s dishes in Abu Dhabi.
