Unvaccinated Emiratis can travel abroad from April 16

Other updates include that under 16s no longer need a negative PCR test to enter the UAE

Unvaccinated Emiratis who haven’t received the COVID-19 vaccine are able to travel overseas from Saturday April 16.

In order to fly abroad, those who are unvaccinated must take a PCR test within 48 hours of travel and receive a negative result.

Those wanting to travel away from the UAE must also complete travel forms within the Al Hosn app to turn their status to green.

Up until Saturday, unvaccinated Emirati citizens have been banned from travelling outside the UAE since January 10.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) shared the announcement and also added that there are also new protocols for those arriving in the UAE.

Youngsters under the age of 16 will no longer have to take a PCR test on arrival to the country.

If you’re wondering where to get vaccinated in the UAE or take a booster shot, there are many options across the emirates.

The UAE tops a list of countries with a population of over 1 million when it comes to the rate of fully vaccinated individuals against COVID-19, according to an index issued by Our World in Data.
