Wondering what’s happening with Expo 2020 Dubai? Ready for the next phase of District 2020? Things are moving because an Expo 2020 Dubai committee appointed to oversee the transformation of the world’s greatest show.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has appointed a committee to oversee the development of the next stage of the Expo 2020 Dubai site.
The new committee’s role will be to oversee the Expo 2020 site as it is relaunched as District 2020.
As part of the transformation, the spot that was the location for the fair for six months from October 2021 until March 2022 will evolve into one of Dubai’s newest places to live and work.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group will head up the committee, which has a three-year term.
The committee will be responsible for the development and implementation of projects in District 2020 as well as the infrastructure and the provision of investment opportunities in the area in partnership with the private sector.
Already, Time Out has revealed that 10 pavilions are here to stay and there the new Dubai Exhibition Centre and Rove Expo too, but lots more is set to come.

Exciting news is that 22 percent of the site’s electrical power will come from the sun, plus, the buildings have been designed to consume almost 50 percent less water than most buildings.
