Abu Dhabi residents encouraged to buy local with new campaign

Made in Abu Dhabi has launched in the UAE

Residents in Abu Dhabi are being encouraged to buy local produce and homemade products as part of a new campaign.

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has launched the Made in Abu Dhabi campaign to promote homemade products made in the emirate and incentivise manufacturers to display the campaign logo on their products.

The logo features Arabic font styled to resemble the handwriting of Sheikh Zayed, Founding Father of the UAE.

Made in Abu Dhabi will promote national products under a unified brand and develop the local economy, as well as enhancing self-sufficiency in basic goods by promoting the purchase and manufacturing of locally-made products.

Goods featuring the Made in Abu Dhabi logo will also be promoted on an official Instagram page as part of the ongoing campaign.

“The campaign provides all manufacturers in the emirate of Abu Dhabi with the opportunity to display their products on the Made in Abu Dhabi Instagram page, which we launched as part of our strategy, and which aims to enhance the reputation of national products within the local market, followed by regional and global markets,” said Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, chairman of ADDED.
