Abu Dhabi reduces capacity across restaurants, malls and attractions

Cinemas to close, while parties and gatherings not permitted

Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced new safety measures in the emirate, reducing capacity at restaurants and malls, among other attractions and destinations.

Effective from today (Sunday February 7) all cinemas are to close and parties and gatherings are no longer permitted.

In addition, shopping malls, gyms, restaurants, beaches, swimming pools, parks, gyms and public transport have new permitted operating capacities.

Restaurants, coffee shops and hotels may only operate to a maximum capacity of 60 percent while shopping malls must operate at 40 percent of guest capacity.

Private beaches and swimming pools should operate at 50 percent capacity maximum, public beaches and parks 60 percent and gyms 50 percent.

Marriage ceremonies and family gathering may only have a maximum of ten people and only 20 people can attend a funeral or mourning service.
