Al Qana
Once open Al Qana will be home to the largest cinema complex in Abu Dhabi, the largest aquarium in the Middle East, with a turtle rehabilitation centre, a huge social, cultural and lifestyle centre, running and cycling paths, the biggest e-sports facility in the UAE and more. It’s due to open early in 2021.

Makers District
This new residential and leisure destination is located on Reem Island and is being developed by Imkan. Makers District is a mixed-use waterfront development with homes, places to eat and shop, and more as well as a big public square. Designed by Dutch firm MVRDV, it will be 85,000 sq ft and aims to encourage communal living by celebrating the cultural traditions of the UAE. We think it looks great and look forward to checking it out for a coffee and a stroll once it’s completed by the end of 2021. Before that though, the site will be home to beach club Cove Beach Abu Dhabi, due to open before the end of November.

Reem Mall
Reem Mall
will be home to more than 450 stores, restaurants, a cinema and the world’s biggest indoor snow park, Snow Abu Dhabi. The 125,000 sq ft park will be home to 13 different rides and attractions across different zones. Once open, the 2 million sq ft shopping centre will offer new retail, leisure and entertainment options for people in Abu Dhabi.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi
is coming to Yas Island. The landmark project will be the first SeaWorld park outside of the United States and the first in the world to not keep orcas. Once open the new park will also be home to a dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation and return centre, which will support regional and global conservation efforts. The centre will be home to live studies into indigenous local species such as dugongs and sea turtles. The 183,000 square metre park will cover multiple levels and offer an immersive experience for visitors from the UAE, the Middle East and across the world. Six distinct realms will be featured at the park telling the ‘one ocean’ story, explaining the interconnectivity between all life on earth and the oceans.
The park is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022.

WB Abu Dhabi, a Curio Collection by Hilton
Last year
we found out that Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi would be adding a hotel across from the theme park. The first-ever Warner Bros hotel will be themed throughout with Warner Bros’ most famous characters and will be home to 257 rooms over eight levels, a Warner Bros restaurant, fitness club, ballroom and rooftop pool. Now, Miral has announced that the WB Abu Dhabi hotel will be operated by Hilton under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand and is set to open in 2021. We can’t wait to book a stay.

Yas Bay
Yas Bay
on Yas Island is one of the most exciting projects in the UAE. The $1.1bn (approximately Dhs4bn) development will be home to The Etihad Arena, The Waterfront with two hotels, a beach club, a boardwalk pier as well as cafes and retail units. A new Hilton hotel will be opening at the site as well as the Residences at Yas Bay and a new home for twofour54. We’re looking forward to seeing it open to the public.
