Ready to have an adventure with your best friend this weekend? Paws by the Beach is the UAE’s first pet-friendly festival and it’s kicking off this weekend on Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
The festival goes from Saturday February 26 to Sunday February 27 and has fun competitions and entertainment for furry friends and pet owners alike.
Local pet groups, vendors, training schools, pet relocation companies, rehabilitative organisations and veterinarians will also be onsite offering presentations. The event goes from 10am to 10pm on both days and will focus on animal welfare awareness so you can learn how to best take care of your pooch.

Paws by the Beach is not the only pet-friendly initiative arriving in Ras Al Khaimah. There are loads of pet-friendly spaces in the emirate, including dog-friendly beaches and parks and pet-friendly accommodation. It’s part of the new programme Ras Al-K9, which is focused on making the emirate even more welcoming for pets.
Most beaches in RAK are dog-friendly and firm favourites include Al Jazeerah and Flamingo beaches. The Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Center has the biggest open-air dog park in the UAE with a fully equipped agility park and doggy swimming pool.
If you’re looking for a dog park closer to home, Abu Dhabi just opened a new dog park in Al Khubeirah and there are pet-friendly spots in Dubai, too.
After a foodie experience with your pooch? Stars N Bars is hosting a Saturday dog brunch and new spot Emmy Squared is a dog-friendly restaurant in Yas Bay Waterfront.
