Heading out this week? Why settle for something ordinary?

Ready to take in some impressive vistas?

Try these Time Out recommended venues.

Eclipse Terrace Lounge

Eclipse Terrace Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi enjoys wonderful views of the city, making it a prime spot for a sundowner. Taking our seats as the sun begins its slow decent behind the buildings, we admire the scene, take a few snaps and then settle in for a few chilled hours. Apart from the spectacular views, the venue is chic, cool and everything you would expect from such a Four Seasons venue. It’s elegant, stylish and, with a poolside location and plenty of comfortable seats dotted around the place, somewhere you could easily while away a few hours without much trouble.

Hakkasan

Heading for a night out at Emirates Palace always makes us feel like we’ve turned into celebrities for the night. Passing through those grand gates is enough to make even the most modest of people start to feel a little bit self important, and when you know you’re going for drinks at Hakkasan Terrace, then you have even more reason to feel very pleased with yourself. The up-market Chinese restaurant isn’t just a place to gorge on Peking duck pancakes, it also has a very cool outdoor bar area. It even has its own entrance at the side of the building, but we’ve come through the main hotel (because looking at all that gold never gets boring) and we arrive by walking through the Oriental-themed restaurant and then along a winding stone path. The build-up just makes everything feel even more exciting.

Stratos

When you step inside Stratos and take in the spectacular view of downtown Abu Dhabi from 26 storeys up, you’re suddenly reminded how vibrant our great city is and how vast. It’s a people-watcher’s dream. We could spend all day looking down on the city. It almost seems like we have as the sun sets over Abu Dhabi and the city starts to light up, projecting into the night’s sky as far as the eye can see. The venue is classy but casual, it feels like a swanky hotel but you’ll be forgiven for leaving the suit jacket and ballgown at home when you visit.
