Versailles and The World exhibition

New things to do at Louvre Abu Dhabi: Versailles and the World exhibition tapestry of royal courts outside

Versailles and the World is the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first international exhibition of 2022 and it is a must-see for history buffs. Presented in partnership with Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon, the exhibition tells the story of Versailles and the French royal court. As the exhibition name suggests, it is not just French artefacts that feature with objects from the globe, include China and Japan, also being showcased.

Taking the children for some culture? Young visitors are invited to discover the marvels of the Palace of Versailles at the Louvre Abu Dhabi with sweet cartoon friend Qalam. Make sure to download the online guide prior to a visit to keep your little museum visitors engaged as they explore the Versailles and The World exhibition.

For those wanting to take time to reflect in the iconic setting, there are twice-daily yoga sessions being held under the iconic dome at Louvre Abu Dhabi for those looking for a unique yoga experience. Find your inner peace as you harness the energy of the sun, sea and wind during the 75-minute sessions alongside likeminded yogis.

Stories of Paper exhibition

New things to do at Louvre Abu Dhabi: Louvre Abu Dhabi interiors with tiled roof and white walls

There are 100 artworks from 16 museums and institutions from around the world included in the Stories of Paper exhibition. Letter-writers and book-lovers will likely be intrigued as the exhibit delves into the history of paper as well as showcasing the varied use of paper across the centuries.

The exhibition is being presented in partnership with Musée du Louvre and France Muséums, and with 12 different sections you are sure to leave filled with new knowledge about the everyday item. Don’t miss the paper maze.

Stories of Paper masterclass

New things to do at Louvre Abu Dhabi: Stories of Paper exhibition water and Ancient China tapestry

Those wanting to try their hand at art should love this one this follow-up to the Stories of Paper exhibition. Emirati artist Khalid Al Banna will take lovers of art on a three-hour journey to explore how he creates his signature collage artworks.

After having walked through the Stories of Paper exhibition, you will be using tools and methods of printing to create your own artwork under the guidance of the artist himself.
