UK COVID-19: all restrictions to be removed in England

The update includes removing isolation requirements

Travelling from the UAE to the UK? All UK COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted in England, including the end of mandatory self-isolation for positive cases, by Thursday February 24.

The UK is also removing free testing by Friday April 1 and symptomatic free testing will only be available to at-risk groups and social care staff. However, the administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will set their own COVID-19 restrictions.

The lifting of UK COVID-19 restrictions is known as the “living with COVID-19 plan”.

Earlier this year, the United Kingdom removed pre-travel testing requirements for vaccinated travellers. From January 7, vaccinated travellers are also no longer required to self-isolate on arrival. There are currently no countries on the UK travel red list, including the UAE.

The UK is not the only country that has removed all COVID-19 related restrictions recently.

Jordan has also announced that all remaining COVID-19 restrictions will be removed apart from vaccination requirements. PCR tests will no longer be required to enter the country, officials said. Additionally, limits on gatherings will be lifted as part of the plan.
