Full refunds offered for J Balvin Showdown Week gig

Ticket holders can get 30 percent off Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets after artist cancels due to illness

J Balvin will no longer perform in Abu Dhabi on September 5 at The Arena on Yas Island due to illness, but there’s a silver lining for those who had tickets to see the artist.

Ticket holders will receive a full refund and are being offered a 30 percent discount on the remaining ticket to the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on September 4.

“Due to sudden illness, J Balvin has regrettably had to cancel his Abu Dhabi Showdown Week performance,” said a DCT Abu Dhabi statement.

“We wish J Balvin a speedy recovery. As per the ticket terms and conditions, all ticketholders are entitled to a full refund and this will be automatically refunded to the card used for purchase.”

Fans of the reggaeton signer will be disappointed but there’s plenty more to be excited about in the capital as part of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, not least the Ultimate Burger Championship, taking place at 7pm on Friday September 6 at Cooper’s, which you can still register for the chance to take part in. The winner will walk away with Dhs1,000, plus a weekend hotel stay, as will the winner of Abu Dhabi’s fastest pub quiz, which takes place at the same location just one hour before, at 6pm. Then there’s the performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, happy hour deals, pool parties, UFC fighter meet and greets, Knockout Burgers, fitness events, open training, the weigh-in and so much more to get the atmosphere building ahead of fight night.

Then there’s the main event, UFC 242 where Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier will go head to head for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
