See this awesome poetry and music event: Hekayah The Story

Poets, spoken word artists and storytellers will perform virtually

If you love poetry and music, you’re going to want to see this event at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi on your radar.

Hekayah The Story brings together a line-up of poets, spoken-word artists, musicians and more in an exciting celebration of diversity and storytelling.

Looking to learn about the history of the UAE? The online event opens with a live conversation between NYUAD Vice Chancellor Mariët Westermann and His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, the Cultural Adviser to the President of the UAE and the Chancellor of UAE University.

The event starts at 6.30pm on Wednesday November 24 and will begin with a presentation by His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh on the history of the UAE and his work during the formation of the UAE. Following the conversation, audiences will enjoy a mix of live and video performances by Hekayah artists.

Hekayah is one of many cool and cultural events happening in Abu Dhabi right now.

The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival just opened at Al Wathbah with a massive celebration of UAE culture and heritage. The festival is running until April 1, 2022 with exhibitions, events and popular markets plus camel races, falconry shows, competitions and fireworks. Whew.

The Mother of the Nation Festival is coming to Abu Dhabi on Thursday December 9 on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The event includes attractions, Insta-worthy signage, art installations, musical performances, loads of food and rides for visitors of all ages. There are six zones to explore, with sub-themes represented through the artwork.

Boogie Box is back at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Thursday November 25. The even better news? The dance floor will be open, meaning guests can dance (you heard us).

Abu Dhabi Festival has also announced its 2022 programme with more than 1,000 artists participating from across the world. Founded in 2004 and organised by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, the annual festival is the largest cultural celebration in the region and reaches across the world.
