Hattem Mattar in Abu Dhabi

Try barbecue by Dubai pitmaster Hattem Mattar at Abu Dhabi pop-up

The five-day experience is taking place at Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri

Looking for a great grill in Abu Dhabi? Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri is hosting one of Dubai’s favourite chefs Hattem Mattar in Abu Dhabi for a special dining experience this April.

Known for his tender brisket and smoked meats, Mattar will arrive at Ess Lounge where he’ll assemble a barbecue menu with all the meats you could hope for.

The foodie event is part of Shangri-La’s Culinary Masters series, where famous chefs pop-up at the hotel to show off their culinary talents. Dubai pitmaster Hattem Mattar is the latest in the series. He is considered the first Arab pitmaster and is a Time Out Market vendor. Now, diners in Abu Dhabi can enjoy Mattar’s barbecue this Ramadan.

The four-course menu brings together the best seasonal produce from both land and sea, central to chef Mattar’s culinary style. The Hattem Mattar x Shangri-La menu kicks off with a rendition of surf and turf with yakitori scallops wrapped in beef specks followed by a charred elotes corn salad with lime, chili and feta cheese.

Hattem Mattar is the founder of The Mattar Farm: one of Dubai’s best-loved pop-ups and home to the popular brisket. The Mattar Farm is a favourite with a massive following. Fans of the tasty smoked meat also flock to Time Out Market Dubai for Local Fire by The Mattar Farm.

Wondering where to eat at Time Out Market? There are loads of incredible options, from traditional Emirati dishes to sushi to Portuguese cuisine.
