Get spooked at the Sheikh Zayed Festival horror house

There are loads of things to do at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, especially on the weekend. Looking to get spooked? Head to the House of Fear to test your courage against the scary house, which features horror rooms for visitors to pass through. There is also an escape room, with clues leading you through the maze.

Throw it back to the ’90s at Manarat Al Saadiyat

Wish you were living in the ’90s? Zemanna is a new exhibition at Manarat Al Saadiyat that explores life in the UAE during that time and is open now. Tickets are Dhs45 per person. It will be running until Monday June 13, so there will be plenty of time to see it, and soak up the nostalgia.

Have a Detroit-style slice of pizza at Yas Bay Waterfront

Emmy Squared is open now at Yas Bay Waterfront and it’s bringing square pizzas to the capital. This is the first international branch of Emmy Squared, which started in Williamsburg, New York and has since spread across the USA.

Ladies’ Day at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Women of Warner is back at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. It’s the first ladies-only event of the year and it’s coming to the epic theme park on Friday January 28 from 6pm to 10pm. There are 29 rides and immersive attractions. Ladies can also meet favourite DC heroes and characters, plus, enjoy shopping and dining.

Play with cats at Abu Dhabi’s first cat café

Looking to sip coffee and play with some adorable cats? Meow Café has all of tha. It offers playtime with its kittens as well as a full menu of coffees and pastries. Coffees are between Dhs20 and Dhs25, and one hour of playtime with the cats will costs Dhs45 for adults and Dhs35 for kids under the age of ten.

See the new exhibition at the Louvre Abu Dhabi

Ready to dive into global history? There is a new exhibition on at the Louvre Abu Dhabi and it’s bringing one of the world’s most iconic palaces to Abu Dhabi. Versailles and the World will be on from Wednesday January 26 to Saturday June 4. It tells the story of Versailles and the French royal court.

Take the Warehouse 421 Culture Bus to Quoz Arts Fest

Abu Dhabi’s Warehouse 421 is bringing back the Culture Bus, with road trips to key cultural institutions and events around the UAE this winter. On Saturday January 29, the bus is going to Quoz Arts Fest at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. The festival will have live music, food trucks, outdoor installations, exhibitions and markets. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the bus leaves at 10am. It departs from Alserkal at 5pm.

Watch Nightmare Alley in UAE Cinemas

Headed to the movies this weekend? Nightmare Alley is an American neo-noir psychological thriller film. It is based on the 1946 novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett. It is directed by Guillermo del Toro.
